Report: INSIDE THE MIND OF THE FELMAUSA'S BOARD CHAIRMAN...

July 26, 2010, By: Alieu A. Jabateh, AJABATEH06@GMAIL.COM FELMAUSA PUBLIC RELATION DEPT.

FELMAUSA's Board Chairman, Abraham K. Kromah

As an energetic child growing up in Ganta, Nimba County, Liberia, Hon. Abraham Kalilu Kromah revealed himself as controversial and/or a motivational individual. He pushed his intellectual limits, and sometimes tests the patience of his many friends. During the difficult days in Liberia, he meaningfully contributed to the struggle of the Mandingoes People.  At an early age, he was sturdy, hated to fail and demanded nothing but the best from himself.

Who is Abraham K. Kromah

Abe as he is affectionately called is a very persuasive and assertive individual. He stops at no even length when it comes to the implementation of his plans. Failure is not an option for the FELMAUSA Board Chairman; he will stop at nothing but to have his dominant agenda accomplished. If it means soaring a few relationships here and there, well, so be it but the will of Mr. Kromah at some point must prevail and then the relationship aspect will be address at a later date. One can recall Abe Kromah relentless battle with the then leadership of FELMAUSA over the selection of Alhaji Kromah as the lone candidate for the senatorial seat of Monsterrado County. The saga took many twists and turns but it eventually ended up with Mr. Abe Kromah been the voice of reasoning. Then came the convention in Minnesota when Mr. Kromah and his team of board members were criticized heavily by members of the community for being very quiet and insignificant until few days to the Minnesota convention. Mr. Kromah singlehandedly engaged his critics and provided justifiable reasons to have him reelected as Chairman of FELMAUSA Board of Directors. Kalilu Kromah has no permanent friends but permanent interest in the quest of policies making that may be based on consensus. This was clearly manifested during the fourth annual FELMAUSA Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where a new constitution was adopted against all odds.

Moreover, the young and talented board chairman believes in himself and will convince others to join him. These may be few of his approaches:

1.    He knows the importance of the issue and engages in it substantively

2.    He clearly understands exactly what it is that he wants to contribute irrespective of divergent views.

3.    He develops a plan of engagement

4.    He effectively collaborates with others to have his objectives achieved

5.    He advocates his points of view and will not easily give in, even when his points are not realistic.

Mr. Abraham K. Kromah is a public figure and as member of the fourth estate, we have a commitment to inform the community about people who serve us. Mr. Kromah is one of the few public figures that have ridden in the trenches with young men and women who believe in the dreams of a Mandingo establishment.  Mr. Kromah unlike others has worked tirelessly to see FELMAUSA reach an echelon of dignity and pride.  Mr. Kromah has accepted to be humiliated, blamed and criticized for some of the pitfalls within the organization yet, he remains unwavering and diligent to the over-all cause.

To the surprise of many in our community, Abraham Kromah wrote an interesting article title: Taking responsibility- a reflective assessment of our deportment... where he publicly apology to Mr. Obe Bamba and others in his own words Mr. Bamba and others deserve our heartfelt apology and in this public manner I provide this note as an apology and quest for forgiveness”. Many readers wondered why it took the Board Chairman this long time to acknowledge his erroneous deeds. How sincere is the FELMAUSA Board Chairman? As the old saying goes “Its better late than never”.  For us what matters is the acceptance of guilt and taking responsibility and providing apology for your actions. Moreover, the ability of those offended by Hon. Kromah willingness to accept his apology. I’m sure most readers will agree that Mr. Bamba and others were not the only victim of Abe’s unremitting and belligerent exchange to have his will triumph over all else but Hon. Abraham Kalilu Kromah remains the lone wolf amongst all of us.

In conclusion, each of us can compile a list of public figures and prominent Mandingoes that are yet to support the dreams and aspirations of FELMAUSA. Even with all the efforts and time that has been vested; they continue to sit on the fence awaiting an official invitation to participate in the works of the young men and women that generated the idea of this noble organization.

To be continued...
