Personality of the week is a weekly program created to highlight the leadership and contribution of individual that are making a positive impact in our community. Today POTW is sister Makula S Kamara sarnor from Monrovia, Liberia.
Makula S. Kamara Sarnor. She was born unto the blessed union of Mr. & Mrs Kamara in Garnersville, Monrovia – Montserrado County. She started her primary education at the Bernersville, St. Peters Elementary school.
She spent most of life in Barnersville; she enrolled at the Jimmy Jolocon High school and stayed there up to her graduation in 2008. In the same year after her graduation, she was successfully admitted at the Cuttington University in Suakoko Bong County where she studied Economics major and Management minor.
She got married in 2014 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Cuttington on September 26, 20015.
Immediately after graduation, she was employed by International Mercycorps to served as business trainer. She trained ebola victims and Survivors basic and long lasting skills needed to achieve business success and prosperity. Over the past years, Makula S. Kamara sarnor has served as Business Consultant to many business people while ensure tremendous success in their businesses. Makula is the Manager and Co-proprietor of Sarmara, Inc Businesses in Liberia.
November 2016 to early 2017, she served as the field coordinator on a National Civil Society Council sustainable Developing Goals Mapping/survey in three counties, Lofa, Nimba and Grand Gedeh.
Despite all of the above, she has created a Non-governmental organization named Women and Youth Empowerment Network (WYEN). The purpose of creating this organization is to assist entrepreneurs achieve the basic skills needed to be successful in business. The organization also helps senior students from high school to make sound and independent decisions in selecting their future careers. Her organization also focuses on help unemployed and less privileged women achieve their full potential. She believes that women can be more than just house wives.
