Personality of the week is a weekly program created by our team to highlight the leadership and contribution of individual that are making a positive impact in our community. This week our POTW is Amara M. Fofana. He was born unto the blessed union of Mr. & Mrs Fofana in Phebe Hospital, Suakoko, and Bong County. He started his primary education at the Gbarnga Arabic and English school (Mandarsabah) and later matriculated at the United Methodist mission of the same City up to civil war of 1990.
While in Conakry capital Republic of Guinea, His parents sent him to French school (Ecole premiere de Matam et college Bofi) starting from 4th grade up to 10th grade/1992 to 1998 Upon his return back home in the year mentioned above, it took he another 2 years before enrolling at the G.W.Gibson High school located on the Capitol buy-pass (2001-2002 & 2002-2003)8th to 9th grades. During the 2003-2004 academic year, he was admitted in 10th grade at the Liberia Dujar high school located on grass-field Gardnerville graduated from said institution as a student’s leader 2005-2006 school year.
During his 11th grade (2004-2005) as the Vise president of the student’s council government also earned an international Award in Developing Skills in Management and Methodology. Again as an astute Alumni, he was invited by Liberia Dujar Association-Sweden and rfsu Stockholm for basic training of workshops leaders. This happened in May 2007, where he also earned a Diplomat after intense class room participations. With those opportunities/ achievements, considering many challenges our people and country faced by then, we dreamed about legitimizing our Advocacy(we founded & legalized in 2007)the most Popular and Influential Independent Forum for the Protection of Democracy in Liberia(LDPFI)Inc. which he currently chair.
He also one of the distinguished personalities Awarded by the Mandingo Caucus for our nationalistic fight against the deadly EBOLA virus. Educationally, he is a senior student at the Nation premiere institution of learning (UL). Studying Political science with distinction and Public Administration as manor from 2012 to present. Meanwhile, he is a satisfied and committed member of the following organizations; 1*National Mandingo Caucus of Liberia (NMCL) 2*National Muslim Students Association (NAMSAL) 3*University of Liberia Muslim Students Association (ULMSA) 4*Islamic Solidarity for Peace and Democracy (ISPD) 5*The Emancipation Project (TEP) 6*Unity Base (UB) 7*Coalition for the Transformation of Liberia (CONTROL) And etc.
Politically, currently he is Aspirant of District 12 Mont.Co. Ladies and gentlemen, please congratulate our hardworking Brother for his tremendous community service and for been recognize as POTW.
