Personality of the Week is a weekly program created by our team to highlight the contribution of individuals that are making positive impact in the community. This week our personality of the week Sanesie Dukuly from Brisbane Australia. He was born in camp # 4 Yekepa , Nimba county Liberia onto the union of Mr. & Mrs. ELhadji Fantamamady Dukuly (RIP).
Sanesie came to Australia in 2005 and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor in Human Services and received the school’s award for Outstanding Achievement. He is currently pursuing his MBA in leadership and International Business.Sanesie is the Coordinator of the Transition and Support Program (Uni-Key Mentoring) at Griffith University (Student Diversity and Inclusion). He is the founder and immediate past president of the Griffith University Refugee Students Association (GURSA). Over the past 4 years he has delivered over 300 speeches to High School and university students alike, members of the community, government and no-government organisations. Through these speaking engagements, he inspired hundreds of young people in the Logan and Brisbane areas He is an advocate for African Australian community, through his involvement on various committees and advisory groups, which include the Logan City Council Cultural Leaders’ Advisory Group, Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Multicultural Affairs (DATSIMA) Cultural Leaders Connect Forum and a former community Relations Officer for the Queensland African Communities Council. In 2013 he was a member of the Brisbane City Council’s Strategy for Young People Reference Group. As a member of the council’s reference group he provided comment on the draft Strategy, advice on the community engagement process, reviewed community comment received during the community consultation process and provided advice on the final Strategy for Young People 2013-2018.
