Personality of the Week is a weekly program created by our team to highlight the contribution of individuals that are making positive impact in the community. This week our personality of the week is brother Lassana Y Bamba from the state of Minnesota. Bamba was born unto the union of Mr and Mrs. Bamba in Nimba county Liberia west Africa, and completed his primary education in a village near the capital city of Liberia (Monrovia). Upon his graduation from primary school Mr. Bamba moved to Monrovia where he lived with his uncle Mr. Sekou Bamba (RIP) to complete his secondary education from St Michael high school. In high school the brother passion for writing and journalism caught the attention of his peers and faculties which led to the formation of the school press club and he later matriculated to university of Liberia to study Mass communication. He is currently seeking dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Technical Communication and Public Relations at the Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, Minnesota. Education was not the only thing on brother Bamba mind rather his quest to speak for his community was also the main objective behind his motivation. So Bamba started working at ELBC radio station airing his programmed in his native dialect Mandingo and it was the only Mandingo programmed in Liberia at that time. Mr. Bamba have eight years of broadcasting from the Liberia Broadcasting System (ELBC) and experience in web publication, content development strategies, multimedia production, photography, photo layout, and writing press releases. Due to his passion for spoken and written communication, he met with Robin White, editor of Focus On Africa Magazine, British On Africa Magazine, British Broadcasting Corporation, Philip Turle, Radio France International, and Moses Blah, former President of Liberia, including former President Charles Taylor and some former rebel leaders. Mr. Bamba is the former Secretary General for Minnesota Mandingo association and member of the 21 men council of MMA, he is part of the information team at Masjid Al-Ansar to provide information to the community about the development of the masjid. He also volunteered on the crystal park and recreation board where our kids, and adults can have leisure time with their family all year round. He is the producer of the BAMBA1 NEWS radio and BAMBA COMMUNITION NETWORK in Minnesota. Mr.. Bamba is a community oriented individual that have vast knowledge on all aspect of life and he is move by how people interaction with one another on a wide verities of issue. He is down to earth, respectful brother and soft spoken with lot of potentials that will improve his community. Brother Lassana Y Bamba live in Minnesota with his wife and kids.
