President Bangalee Trawally of FELMAUSA conducted his first inclusive cabinet meeting yesterday. The Sunday meeting was intended to proactively acclimate various Standing Committees within the administrative corridors of FELMAUSA. The FELMAUSA leader scheduled the meeting two weeks ago with the hope that by such time the Board of Directors would have already confirmed all, if not most of the President’s nominated Standing Committee leaders and members. The President’s assumption was on target. The FELMAUSA Board of Directors has confirmed all Standing Committees but Education, which will soon be confirmed pending rectification of some minuscule administrative error. Such error is being urgently, bilaterally worked on by both the Administration and the National Board of Directors of FELMAUSA.
The meeting commenced promptly at 3PM and last up to 5:15PM yesterday. The President told cabinet and Executive officials that the honeymoon period was over, now that most of the committees have been confirmed. He said it was important to apprehend, that more was expected of this administration based on the level of supports received from members of the community, especially their willingness to participate either directly or indirectly to move the Federation forward, and so, it was incumbent upon everyone in the leadership to strive to make a difference. President Trawally commanded the fact that so far all members of the leadership have shown or demonstrated the willing ness to work in moving FELMAUSA forward.
“ If we had trust in our ability to make a difference in FELMAUSA, if we saw some ways of improving this Federation that other administration did not see, this is the time to demonstrate what we saw all along that others did not see”, the FELMAUSA Chief Executive told members of his cabinet yesterday. He further urged members of his administration to exhibit highly level of respect, honesty and sincerity in delivering to the expectations of our community and its people. “We must remember that we have ascended to various positions of leadership to do the people’s business, and this, we must do with to the fullest of our ability.
President Trawally told heads of cabinet to report within two weeks during which each committee Chair will be expected to demystify his/her plan in a way that should translate in the accomplishing the overall objective of the administration. “We will reshuffle if you do not take your responsibility seriously” he said.
He called on all committee heads to begin to establish solid line of communication with Chapter Leaders in an effort to make our work easy. I say this because FELMAUSA is a chapter-driven Federation and it has proven from time to time that a successful FELMAUSA leadership must be in good rapport with various chapters of the Federation. ‘We must strive for excellence in our endeavors to up lift FELMAUSA, and every way we can find to do so must be exhausted”, the President said.
