FELMAUSA Leadership Unveils Its Signature Project
As the number of our Local community population in the USA continues to surge, likewise the responsibilities to balance and maintain the cultural and traditional values of our ancestors become more challenging, the only way around , is by instituting an appropriate interventional measures in a form and shape of well guided course of programs, dedicated to providing focus on not only creating cultural awareness, but also providing an environment that will create meaningful, engaging activities to keep youths in our community safe, allowing the practice of cultural interactive activities that will help instill a sense of cultural understanding especially for the newly born community members who suppose to be the inheritors of the cultures and traditions of our great community .
It’s with this backdrop that the idea of establishing a community outreach and empowerment center was born with the sole objective of designing programs that will provide products, and services for every member of the community of every age, and stage of life.
The center shall be opened to the greater African community in south west Philadelphia area and its environs and shall be delighted to provide products, and services to whom that may stand in need of its services including the Liberian Mandingo Communities in the USA
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
The objectives of the community center are to provide an operational head quarter for the community empowerment and outreach programs for the Federation of Liberian Mandingos in the USA.
It shall engage in sports, recreational programs through the sport committee, social, economic and cultural programs through the social committee and education initiatives for community members of all ages and stages in life through the education committee of FELMAUSA.
Like many Nonprofit Organizations, FELMAUSA COMMUNITY CENTER will have a wide range of activities to support the existing objectives of the federation including:
To support the education development of children by initiating Homework Club specifically targeting children whose parent cannot help with their home works, and establishing an after school programs for kids whose parent may be in need of such program. To encourage the children to understand, respect and participate in all social institutions including their homes.
